Foundations Book 3 is a preschool and kindergarten pre-reading curriculum designed to help children build letter sound knowledge, alphabet recognition, phonological awareness, and early literacy skills through faith-based, wholesome, developmentally appropriate lessons. Perfect for homeschool families preparing for phonics instruction and beginning reading. Science of Reading aligned.

Foundations Book 3 continues the Oak & Sapling Foundations journey by helping children strengthen the connection between spoken sounds and printed letters. Through a simple and calm weekly rhythm of listening activities, letter instruction, oral blending practice, nature connections, poetry and nursery rhymes, picture book connections, and review, your child will build the foundational skills needed for future reading success.

Foundations is for children who are ready to connect letters with their sounds to begin their early reading journey. Each Foundations Book contains 5-6 weeks of lessons and expands on the previous one, with continued exposure to letters and concepts aligned with a Science of Reading progression. The complete Foundations program is 26 weeks. Added to an 8 week Primer One program, children can receive a full preK or Kindergarten phonics curriculum, depending on the readiness of the child. Oak & Sapling's literacy programs are meant to be flexible and match the skill level of your individual child.
